Highlights
CoinMaster starts with a short tutorial that introduces you to the basic mechanics and then gives you the freedom to start playing any way you like. That’s really enough to get you started, but here we’ll cover some of the mechanics that the manual doesn’t explain.
Everything in Coin Master revolves around earning and spending coins. There are three basic ways to earn coins in Coin Master (apart from spending real money to do so): 1) winning coins from the machine; 2) attacking other players’ bases; and 3) raiding other players’ bases. To do any of these activities, you must spin on the slot machine.
Slots
Slot machines are the backbone of the game, and you spend most of your time on this screen. You can access a slot machine by opening the game menu and selecting it, or by swiping down from the village view.
Below the slot machine you will see the current number of spins available. Each time you spin the machine, the number decreases by one. When you’re done spinning, you’ll have to wait a while for them to play. The slot machine in Coin Master has four reels with four different symbols. If you manage to get four of the same symbols in a row, immediately perform this action. The four symbols are: a bag of coins, a hammer, a bandit pig, a shield and a spinner.

Bag of coins
Bag of Coin, as the name suggests, gives you coins. Unlike the other pictures, you don’t need a whole series of them to win a prize. Each bag of coins you get after a spin gives you a small reward, but getting a whole row gives you a bigger payout than four individual bags of coins.
Attack – hammer
Get a whole series of hammers (suggested by the game’s Thor’s Hammer graphic) and attack another player’s base. If you have linked your Facebook account to Coin Master, you can select a friend to attack, otherwise the game will select a random player.
The player’s village will appear on the screen and you will be asked to select the buildings you want to attack. Attacking a building gives you a coin reward and lowers the star level of the building being attacked.
Raid – The Pig Bandit
The Bandit Pig is a symbol of a smiling pig in a bandit’s mask. If you hit four in a row, you immediately perform a raid.
Unlike Attacks, you cannot choose the target of your Raid. Above the slot machine is the name and picture of your Coin Master, the player who is your designated Raid target. When the Raid begins, you will be taken to your Coin Master’s village. Instead of attacking one of their buildings, you are given three shovels to dig pits. There are several places in the village that you can dig (marked with large Xs). Choose three holes to dig; some of these will contain a significant amount of coin. This coin is taken directly from the victim’s current cache and is a great way to get on someone’s nerves.
Defence – shield
The shield is used to protect your base from enemy attacks. You can have up to three shields at the same time, which means you are protected from three attacks. If you have a shield, when an enemy attacks one of your buildings, your building will be protected and will not fall on the stars.
The same rules apply when attacking a player with a shield. You will still win 50000 coins (much less than you would otherwise), but the player’s building will not be damaged and the number of stars will not drop.
Note that the Shield does not protect you from invasions.
Betting
If you have collected a large number of spins, you can place bets. When you increase your bet, each spin on the slot machine results in a few spins, but you also increase your chances of winning big. The games multiply the prizes you earn from the spins in the slot machines.
Village building
Villages act as ‘levels’ in Coin Master. In each level you must build five buildings. To complete it and move on to the next village, you must upgrade all the buildings in your current village to 5 stars. Upgrading buildings costs coins, and upgrades become more common the further you get in the game, the more expensive they become, so be prepared to grind. Buildings have no special effects or features and are just progress markers towards the next village.

Revenge
The Revenge mechanic allows you to return to the player who attacked your village. If your base was successfully attacked by another player, you have the chance to regain the attack.
Simply spin the slot machine. If you get a whole row of hammers, the game will take you to the Attack screen and turn into a random village. Pay attention to the top of the screen; there should be a revenge option there. Select this and the game will list all the players who have recently attacked you. Select one and you’ll come to that person’s authorship, where you can take damage.
Map
Cards are acquired by opening chests, which are purchased with coins. There are several collections of themed cards, and each collection contains nine cards. Collect all nine cards in one collection and you will be rewarded with bonuses including free spins, a huge influx of coins and even animals.
There are three types of chests you can buy; the more expensive the chest, the more cards you’ll find in it. The quality of cards you can get from the chest depends on the current level of your village. When you reach higher village levels, you also have the chance to get special gold cards from the chests you open. Gold cards are simply rare versions of other cards, and their collections offer much greater rewards upon completion.
One of the most exciting mechanics in Coin Master is the card exchange system. You can send up to five cards to friends each day, so it’s worth joining the Coin Master forums and community. Many of these have dedicated card trading sections where you can make trade deals with other Coin Master players.
Crates
As explained above in the cards section, crates can be purchased from the coin shop. All chests can yield cards up to 5-star quality level, but more expensive chests have higher – odds of yielding higher quality chortles.
Higher level crates are also less likely to drop cards at low levels than low level crates, so if you’re looking for a specific 1, 2 or 3 star card to complete your card collection, you’ll want to spend coins at lower level crates.
You can also earn Pet Snacks, Pet XP or extra spins from crates. These are added to your inventory on top of the cards you receive, so they don’t affect your probability of scarcity.
Short drops across the chest
Depending on which breast you open, you have a better chance of drawing a particular short. Only the Mystery, Ruby and Valentine Chests have no chance of releasing the Joker card.
Wooden, Gold and Magic Chests are available in Village 3. The Small Luck Chest is available in Village 4, the Small Easter Chest in Village 10, the Large Easter Chest and Emerald Chest in Village 20, the Valentine Chest and Great Luck Chest in Village 30, the Viking Chest and Sapphire Chest in Village 70, the Fortune Chest in Village 100, the Ruby Chest in Village 110 and finally the Epic Chest in Village 130.

Pet
Pets are adorable animals that accompany you on raids and attacks. These loyal little critters also offer cool bonuses to help you lengthen your path to becoming a coin master. Pets hatch by accessing the pet screen from the game menu or by touching the egg under the vending machine.

Rhino is unlocked by completing a collection of creature cards. When active, Rhino has the chance to block enemy attacks, just as Shield does. Picking up Rhino with PD potions increases the chance that Rhino will successfully fend off an enemy attack. At base level, Rhino has a 10% chance of stopping an enemy attack.
In the style of a fox
Foxy is the first pet you unlock when playing Coin Master, but is also the most valuable later in the game. Foxy gives you an extra shovel in raids, meaning you have the chance to find coins or dig up chests. Foxy unlocks at village level 4.

Don’t take the coins!
You are always open to a potential raid that takes a large proportion of your coins. Therefore, you should always spend coins when you can afford to buy them. This is especially important if you don’t have any shields or haven’t unlocked the Rhino Pet yet!
Having a large coin shop in your pocket makes you a prime target for big raids. The Big Raid is the maximum Raid per bet, which, if successful, can end with the Raider walking away with millions of your coins!
Big raids
If you have a lot of spins available, it can be tempting to increase your bet amount and take advantage of the multiplied spin bonus. This is a very cost-effective way to accelerate your coin earnings. However, it is best to save your spins to raid the very rich players.
